Bathroom Flush Valve

A device that regulates the flow of fluids is known as a valve. Opening and closing the valve operates it. Sometimes partial obstruction is used for operating the valve. Valves are used in many fields, but the application that we're most familiar with is in the bathroom.

Valves are used in taps, faucets, and flush systems and so on. They are normally attached to the pipeline and hence classify as pipe fittings. A flush valve is an indigenously designed fitting that controls the flow of water in and out of the flushing system.

This prevents the overflow of water in the flush tank and saves the bathroom from getting messy. Flush valves are sometimes connected separately to the pipeline or sometimes come as an integral part of it.

Most of these valves are manufactured first and then connected later to the pipeline. The valves are attached to the pipeline by treading, cementing or gluing. The size of the valve is generally determined by the diameter of the pipe at its exit.

Typically, in a flushing system the valves used are of the ballcock type. In this type, a lever is used to connect the valve to a float. On the other side, the valve is connected to the pipeline through which the water enters.

When the water fills the flush tank, the float rises until the water has reached the desired height. When the float cannot rise anymore the lever causes the valve to shut stopping the water flow.

The valves are commonly made of stainless steel, brass, plastics and the like. Flushing valve are available in all plumbing stores and those dealing in bathroom hardware.

They can also be purchased at home improvement stores. They are extremely essential for the smooth functioning of any flush system and are thus an important bathroom fitting.
